UN Supports Bangladesh Youth in Shaping National Policies

The Youth Voice Mechanism (YVM) has successfully concluded its journey in Dhaka Division, engaging young people from diverse backgrounds—including urban and underprivileged neighborhoods, university campuses, rural communities, indigenous groups, and marginalized populations.

During the discussions, participants raised pressing concerns such as unemployment, rising living costs, and the challenges posed by rapid urbanization. They also emphasized the need for improved access to education, vocational training, and digital opportunities to better prepare youth for the future.

Environmental issues were another key focus. Many participants highlighted the urgent need for cleaner air, safer public spaces, and stronger climate resilience to combat pollution and environmental stress.

The insights and priorities gathered from Dhaka, along with inputs from youth across all divisions, will help form a national youth platform, placing young people at the center of governance and decision-making in Bangladesh.
