Spanish Ambassador to Bangladesh Mr. Gabriel Cistiaga Ochoa de Chinchetru met with the Honorable Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Dr. Shafiqur Rahman at his office in Bashundhara, the capital, on Sunday (September 28, 2025) at 9:00 am for breakfast and a courtesy call.
Mr. Ambassador initially inquired about the health of Ameer-e-Jamaat Dr. Shafiqur Rahman and wished him complete recovery.
The meeting was held in a very sincere and cordial atmosphere. In the meeting, they discussed the overall situation prevailing in Bangladesh, bilateral relations and investment between Bangladesh and Spain, and issues of mutual interest including international relations. Spain will have strong support for Bangladesh in the future. At the same time, they also expressed their hope that Spanish investment in Bangladesh will increase further in the future.”
Present on behalf of Jamaat-e-Islami during the discussion were the organization’s Secretary General and former MP Professor Mia Golam Parwar, Dhaka Metropolitan North Jamaat Medical Police Station Ameer Dr. SM Khaliduzzaman, and Jamaat’s Foreign Affairs Advisor Professor Dr. Mahmudul Hasan.
