US assures long-term cooperation in energy sector

Diplomatic Desk:

A high-level bilateral meeting was held in Washington DC on Wednesday (June 10, 2026) to strengthen long-term cooperation in the energy sector between Bangladesh and the United States, address global supply chain challenges, and enhance technological partnerships. The Bangladesh side in this important meeting was led by Honorable State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit.

On the other hand, the United States side was led by the country’s newly appointed Under Secretary of Energy Mr. Kyle Housewives. The meeting, held in a very cordial atmosphere, resulted in fruitful and detailed discussions on energy security, infrastructure development, and exchange of modern energy technologies between the two countries. Bangladesh Ambassador to the United States Tarek Md. Ariful Islam was also present at the meeting.

A delegation led by the State Minister for Power and Energy of Bangladesh is currently in the United States to discuss potential cooperation in the energy sector.
