The Ministry of Housing and Public Works has suspended Deputy Director Rashed Ahmed Sadi and Assistant Director Bilal Hossain of the Government Housing Directorate for various corruption and misconduct allegations, including recommending government house allocation without considering the job grade and basic salary, demanding a large bribe from the applicant in the case of D-1 and D-2 class house allocation, and committing irregularities in the performance of duties in the meeting related to house allocation on the date.
A separate notification of suspension dated 18/09/2025 signed by the Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, Md. Nazrul Islam, further mentioned that Rashed Ahmed Sadi has become the owner of huge money and immovable assets through the government house allocation syndicate. Their allegations are under investigation and are sensitive. If they remain in service, they may get involved in more criminal activities and influence the investigation of the allegations brought against them. In view of all these allegations, Rashed Ahmed Sadi and Bilal Hossain have been temporarily suspended under Section 12 (1) of the Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 2018 and he will be entitled to subsistence allowance as per the rules.
In addition, in another office order dated 18/09/2025 signed by Director (Joint Secretary) of the Government Housing Directorate, Md. Asaduzzaman, Assistant Accountant of the Government Housing Directorate, Md. Nazrul Islam has been temporarily suspended for various corruption and misconduct allegations including demanding huge bribes from applicants in the name of allotment of houses of the Government Housing Directorate through a syndicate using the name of higher authorities.
As the allegations against Assistant Accountant Md. Nazrul Islam are under investigation and sensitive, he has been temporarily suspended from service as per Rule 12(1) of the Government Servants (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 2018 and he will be entitled to maintenance allowance as per the rules.
