NRB World Summit 2024 was held in Dhaka. On Thursday (December 26, 2024) morning, the day-long event was inaugurated at the capital’s Sheraton Hotel by Lutfe Siddiqui, Special Envoy for International Relations of the Honorable Chief Adviser to the Interim Government. Interim Government Trade Adviser Sheikh Bashir Uddin was the chief guest at the closing ceremony.
Trade Advisor SK Bashir Ahmed congratulated the expatriates for contributing through remittances in challenging times and presented the awards to the recipients. He also encouraged them to increase their influence by increasing investment in Bangladesh.
Former FBCCI President Md Jasim Uddin echoed this sentiment, urging expatriates to take the lead in investing in various sectors, including the energy sector, to strengthen the country’s development.
At the event, around 32 NRBs who have returned from abroad were recognized and awarded for their contributions in various fields including education, health, industry, technology, financial services, agriculture and culture.
