We want to rebuild Bangladesh with the power of the people: BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman

Staff Correspondent:

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairman Tarique Rahman has expressed his firm determination to rebuild Bangladesh by relying on the support, love and power of the people.

Speaking as the chief guest at an election rally organized at Thakurgaon Government High School grounds on Saturday (February 7, 2026) afternoon, he said that the cooperation and support of every person in the country is needed to build a dream Bangladesh. At this time, he asked the crowd present, “Dear brothers and sisters, do you want such a Bangladesh?” Then he sought support for the sheaves of rice.

Tarique Rahman said, “We have come before the people. We want to rebuild Bangladesh with the support, love and power of the people.” He emphasized that BNP wants to build the country by relying on the power of the people, not on power.

The BNP chairman further said, “We want to build a Bangladesh where ordinary and hard-working people can move around safely, do business and work safely.”

Referring to party chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, Tarique Rahman said, “Khaleda Zia always said that she has no other address except Bangladesh. Every leader and worker of BNP also believes that Bangladesh is their first and last address.” That is why he has stood before the people and pledged to rebuild the country, he said.

He further said, “We want a Bangladesh where mothers and sisters will get safe employment opportunities, can walk safely on the road. Where children and future generations will get a beautiful and modern education system. After completing their studies, the youth will no longer have to be unemployed—there will be opportunities for respectable employment.”

At the same time, expressing solidarity with the demands of the people of Thakurgaon, he said, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir Saheb told me that the work on the airport in this area has progressed a long way. If BNP forms the government after the upcoming elections on the 12th, we will launch this airport as soon as possible.

He said that if BNP comes to power, sugar mills, ration factories and tea industries will be established in Thakurgaon and Panchagarh to create employment.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Organizing Secretary Asadul Habib Dulu and other candidates from various constituencies of Thakurgaon and Panchagarh spoke at the rally chaired by District BNP President Mirza Faisal Amin and moderated by General Secretary Poygam Ali.
