Local Government Advisor Adilur Rahman Khan said, ‘If we do not want to return to the days of disappearances, extrajudicial killings, torture and mirror houses, we must take a stand in favor of the referendum, vote yes.’

Advisor Adilur Rahman Khan said this while participating in the ‘referendum promotion and voter motivation campaign’ at the Cultural Institute of Minority Ethnic Groups in Bandarban district on Friday (January 16, 2026).
The advisor also said, we must also see the dream that our martyrs have shown. So that Bangladesh does not walk on the path of injustice again. Bangladesh will never bow its head to hegemony. Bangladesh will never bow its head to injustice and injustice.

Bandarban Deputy Commissioner Shamim Ara Rini presided over the program, which was addressed by the Secretary of the Local Government Department, Md. Rezaul Maksud Zahedi, and Superintendent of Police Abdur Rahman, along with various departmental officials of the administration.
Local Government Md. Rezaul Maksud Zahedi said that no one has been able to vote for 17 years, and we must vote yes for a Bangladesh free of discrimination. If the yes vote wins, good governance, justice and accountability will be ensured. Those who campaign for the no vote must be stopped.
Advisor Adilur Rahman Khan participated in a meeting in the Balaghata Char-Ipara hilly area of Bandarban on the same day, saying that the 13th National Parliament Election and the referendum will play an important role in determining important directions for the next hundred years of Bangladesh. He went to the polling station in the upcoming parliamentary election and raised the issue of voting yes in the referendum among the attendees.
Besides, during the inspection of the development project, Adilur Rahman Khan, Advisor to the Ministry of Local Government, inspected the work of the Public Health Department worth about Tk 350 crore under the name of Integrated and Sustainable Municipal Water Supply and Sanitation in the Chittagong Hill Tracts in Kalakata area of Bandarban Municipality.
