DMP Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali, NDC said, must be extremely vigilant about the activities and sabotage of banned political parties. We must work with utmost professionalism to provide security and services to the people.
He said these things in his speech as the president to the DMP police officers present at the monthly crime review meeting for April-2025 at the Bangladesh Police Auditorium in Rajarbagh on Thursday (15 May 2025).
Appealing to the police members, the DMP Commissioner said, the police is a well-disciplined force governed by laws and rules. While performing professional duties, we must raise ourselves to a unique height in dress, presentation, service and firmness. There is no chance of showing any kind of unprofessional behavior and laxity in the performance of duties. We must be polite in our behavior with people.
The DMP Commissioner said, separate teams should be formed in each police station to work on investigation, drugs and stolen goods recovery. We must be more proactive in controlling crime and the rate of case disposal must be further increased.
He also said that in the prevailing situation, every member of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police is trying to fulfill the duties assigned to them with professionalism with strong morale.
Additional Police Commissioner (Admin) Faruk Ahmed said in the meeting that efforts should be made to fulfill what the people want. The information of the tenants should be updated regularly by visiting each house.
In the meeting, Joint Police Commissioner (Crime) Md. Faruk Hossain presented the overall crime situation for the month of April-2025 such as robbery, banditry, theft, burglary, murder, accidental death, road accidents, women and child abuse, rape, recovery of drugs and weapons and other cases. At this time, the DMP Commissioner gave various instructions to the police members present.
At the monthly crime meeting in April, the DMP Commissioner awarded officers of various ranks of DMP in various categories in recognition of their good work in maintaining law and order, crime control and public safety in Dhaka Metropolitan City.
DMP Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic) Md. Sarwar, BPM-Services, Additional Police Commissioner (Admin) Faruk Ahmed, Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) S. N. Md. Nazrul Islam, PPM; Additional Police Commissioner (Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime) Md. Masud Karim; Additional Police Commissioner (Logistics, Finance and Procurement) Hasan Md. Shawkat Ali, along with Joint Police Commissioners, Deputy Police Commissioners, Officers-in-Charge of all DMP police stations and police officers of various ranks were present at the crime review meeting.
