According to the Bangladesh Travel Agencies (Registration and Regulation) Act 2013 and the Bangladesh Travel Agencies (Registration and Regulation) (Amendment) Act 2021 and the Bangladesh Travel Agencies (Registration and Regulation) Rules, 2022, it is not legal for any travel agency to operate its business without a registration certificate and renewal of the registration certificate by an expired travel agency.
The government is being deprived of revenue due to non-renewal of the registration certificate. Therefore, the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism has requested all individuals and organizations operating travel agency business through expired travel agencies to urgently submit applications for renewal of registration certificates through the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism’s online travel agency management system (www.regtravelagency.gov.bd).
It has been informed that necessary legal action will be taken against all individuals or organizations operating travel agency business illegally without obtaining and renewing the registration certificate within the next 15 working days, as per the Bangladesh Travel Agency (Registration and Control) Act 2013.
