The US Embassy in Dhaka congratulated the people of Bangladesh on holding successful elections. At the same time, it congratulated BNP and its chairman Tarique Rahman on their historic victory.
A message from the embassy said that the people of Bangladesh have clearly expressed their views through the democratic process, which is an important example of the country’s democratic continuity.
The message also mentioned that the United States is eager to work with the new leadership to realize the common goal of prosperity and security of the two countries. It also expressed the hope of further strengthening the long-standing partnership between Bangladesh and the United States.
