Chief Advisor congratulates Tarique Rahman on his victory in the 13th parliamentary election

Professor Muhammad Yunus, Chief Advisor to the Interim Government, has extended his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairman Mr. Tarique Rahman on his landslide victory in the 13th parliamentary election.

In a congratulatory message, the Chief Advisor said, “The clear verdict of the people in this historic process of democratic transition will be an important milestone for the constitutional and democratic continuity and institutional stability of the country. I firmly believe that under your leadership, it will be possible to take the country forward on a stable, inclusive and development-oriented path.”

He further said, “The ideals and leadership of your father President Ziaur Rahman and your mother former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia will illuminate the path to take the country forward. Today, Bangladesh stands on the threshold of new possibilities in the global arena, where the application of well-coordinated wisdom and mindfulness in economic transformation, technological advancement, climate resilience and human resource development is essential.”

Thanking Professor Yunus Tarique Rahman, he said, “Your valuable cooperation and constructive role during the tenure of the interim government has played an important role for the country. I hope that national unity will be strengthened under your leadership and democratic values, rule of law and accountable governance will be further strengthened.”

Finally, the Chief Advisor prayed, “May all your initiatives be successful for the welfare of the people of the country, establishment of justice and building a prosperous Bangladesh. May Allah Almighty grant you wisdom, patience and determination in serving the country and the nation.”
