A high-level US business delegation led by US-Bangladesh Business Council President Atul Keshav paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Advisor Mr. Humayun Kabir at the Prime Minister’s Office today (August 12, 2026) at the Prime Minister’s Office.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on further strengthening bilateral trade and investment relations between Bangladesh and the United States, expanding mutual economic cooperation, and investment prospects in Bangladesh.
Welcoming the delegation, Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Advisor Humayun Kabir said that Bangladesh and the United States have a long-standing and multi-dimensional relationship. Economic cooperation, including trade and investment, can play an important role in further strengthening this relationship. Highlighting the existing opportunities and potential sectors for US investors in Bangladesh, he said that the government is committed to ensuring a business and investment-friendly environment.
He further said that Bangladesh is currently going through a crucial phase of economic transformation and new opportunities. At this time, closer partnership with US business and investors can make a significant contribution to Bangladesh’s economic growth, job creation, and technology and knowledge exchange.
Atul Keshav, President of the US-Bangladesh Business Council, expressed his interest in Bangladesh’s economic potential and investment opportunities. He emphasized the need to further expand cooperation between the private sectors of Bangladesh and the United States and expressed the Council’s interest in taking the business relationship between the two countries to new heights.
The meeting also exchanged views on increasing trade and investment, cooperation in the industrial and infrastructure sectors, opportunities for US investment in energy, technology, digital economy, healthcare, and other promising sectors.
Both sides emphasized the importance of further dynamizing bilateral economic relations by deepening communication and partnership between the business communities of Bangladesh and the United States.
