US Ambassador to Bangladesh Christensen has praised the architecture of the historic Karapur Mia Bari Mosque in Barisal.
In a message published on the social media of the U.S. Embassy Dhaka on Sunday (August 9, 2026), the Ambassador referred to the Karapur Mia Bari Mosque as a rich symbol of 18th century architecture.
In the message, Ambassador Christensen said, “Beautiful Karapur Mia Bari Mosque – a rich symbol of 18th century architecture. Magnificent!”
Located in the Karapur area of Barisal, this historic mosque is known for its ancient architecture and aesthetic features. Such praise by the US Ambassador also highlights the international interest in the historical structures and cultural heritage of Bangladesh.
