Transparency and accountability must be ensured in the development of the textile sector: Jute advisor

Adviser on Textiles and Jute and Shipping Brig.-Gen. Dr. M Sakhawat Hossain (Retd.) said, transparency and accountability should be ensured to play a role in the development of textile sector.

He said that no one should have difficulty in getting institutional services. Work will be done to eliminate the problems that exist in the institutions.

M Sakhawat Hossain said these things in an exchange meeting organized with officials after visiting the Bangladesh Weaving Board and Textile Directorate at Karwan Bazar in the capital on Tuesday (September 17, 2024).

At that time, director general of the Department of Textiles. Shahidul Islam and Chairman of Bangladesh Textile Board. Mahmud Hossain gave a brief presentation on the activities, challenges and prospects of his organization.

Textiles and Jute Secretary. Abdur Rauf said that the institutions are avoiding obstacles in the development and expansion of the weaving and textile sector. Traditional muslin cloth has been revived through loom boards.

Additional secretary of the ministry said in the meeting. Abdus Samad, Mohammad Mizanur Rahman and senior officials of both institutions were present.
