Those questioning the government’s campaign for the referendum are fascist fugitive forces: Local Government Advisor

Desk Report:

Advisor to the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, Adilur Rahman Khan, said, ‘Those questioning the government’s campaign for the referendum are fascist fugitive forces.

He said, ‘The referendum has been organized to implement the spirit of the July Uprising. Those who took a stand against the July Uprising are now trying to spread confusion about the referendum. The people of Bangladesh are with the July Charter and will make that position clear by voting ‘yes’ in the referendum.’

The Industry and Local Government Advisor said these things while talking to journalists after laying a wreath at the July Memorial Monument installed at the Gurudayal Government College grounds in Kishoreganj city on Monday (January 19, 2026) morning.

Advisor Adilur Rahman Khan also said, ‘The current government is a government in favor of mass uprising. The July Charter has been formulated with the participation of the struggling students and the public. The support of the people will be reflected through the ‘yes’ vote in the referendum on the 12th.’

Local Government Department Secretary Md. Rezaul Maksud Zahedi, Kishoreganj Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Islam Mollah, Police Superintendent Dr. SM Farhad Hossain, members of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement and officials of the district administration were present at the time.
