There will be no elections in 2026 for those who do not accept the July Revolution: Jamaat Ameer

The Ameer of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman, has warned that there will be no elections in 2026 for those who do not accept the July Revolution.

On Tuesday (November 11), at 2 pm, at Paltan More in the capital, the Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami made these remarks as the chief guest at a rally organized at Paltan More in the capital, with five demands including issuing a constitutional order to implement the July National Charter, organizing a referendum in November, and ensuring a level playing field for everyone in the elections.

He said, our demands are few and very clear. First of all, the demand is that the July Charter should be recognized. There will be no elections in 2026 for those who do not accept the July Revolution. To see the 2026 elections, the July Revolution must first be recognized. And to recognize the July Revolution, the July Charter must be given a legal basis. Without this legal basis, there is no possibility of holding any elections.
