“Thai Food Festival 2025 Powered by bKash” Kicks Off at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka

The much-anticipated “Thai Food Festival 2025, Powered by bKash” officially began today (10 July, 2025) at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka. Organized jointly by Pan Pacific Sonargaon and bKash, with support from the Royal Thai Embassy in Dhaka and Thailand’s Department of International Trade Promotion under the Ministry of Commerce, the three-day festival will run from 10 to 12 July.

The grand inauguration ceremony took place at the hotel’s signature restaurant, Café Bazar. The event was graced by Mr. Panom Thongprayuon, Chargé d’Affaires of the Royal Thai Embassy in Dhaka, as the chief guest. Other distinguished attendees included Mr. Zulfiqar Ali, General Manager (Operations) of US-Bangla Airlines; Senior Officer of Bkash; Mr. Md. Israt Hossain Khan, Managing Director of Hotel International; Mr. Asif Ahmed, Acting General Manager of Pan Pacific Sonargaon; and Mr. Md. Nafiujjaman, the hotel’s Public Relations Officer and Head of Marketing.

At the heart of the festival is a spectacular Thai culinary journey led by renowned Thai Chef Chang-Krungkana, who has over a decade of experience in five-star international hotels. Chef Chang gained fame for preparing iconic dishes like Khao Kriab Pak Mor and Khanom Krok at the wedding of a billionaire’s son. Now flying in from Thailand, he will be presenting an array of authentic and delectable Thai delicacies at Café Bazar.

Adding to the cultural richness, a troupe of traditional Thai dancers flown in from Thailand will perform every evening, delivering a captivating blend of dance, flavor, and heritage.

Simultaneously, the Thailand Trade Show 2025 is being held at the hotel’s Grand Ballroom from 10–12 July, aiming to strengthen trade and business ties between Thailand and Bangladesh.

Guests can indulge in buffet brunches and dinners at Café Bazar, priced at BDT 7,000 and BDT 8,500 respectively (excluding beverages). Special promotional offers are available for bKash users, including “Buy 1 Get 1 Free” or “Buy 2 Get 2 Free” buffet dinners. Additionally, similar offers are available for customers of 19 partner banks using selected credit or debit cards.

Commenting on the event, Mr. Asif Ahmed, Acting General Manager of Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka, said, “This festival is not only about food but also a vibrant cultural exchange. It serves as a platform for connecting Thai cuisine and culture with the Bangladeshi public—particularly food lovers and professionals in the culinary industry.”

He further added, “We believe that the diversity and richness of Thai cuisine will have a lasting influence on the Bangladeshi palate and food culture.”
