Online Desk:

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of the Interim Government’s Land, Civil Aviation and Tourism Adviser A.F. Hassan Ariff.

In a condolence message, the BNP acting chairman said in the current political situation, the demise of an experienced lawyer like him has created a vacuum in the country.

Tarique Rahman hoped Hassan Ariff’s contribution to the country’s legal arena will always be remembered by his colleagues and future generations of lawyers.

The BNP acting chairman said his views on the rule of law will be a source of strength and inspiration for democratic political parties.

He prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to his bereaved family members, admirers and well-wishers.

Adviser A F Hassan Ariff died of a massive cardiac arrest at a city hospital this afternoon at the age of 85.

A senior lawyer of Bangladesh Supreme Court, Hassan Ariff was the Attorney General of Bangladesh from October 2001 to April 2005.
