The meeting between BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman and Chief Advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus in London was a “turning point” for party politics, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said.
He made the remarks while talking to reporters at the BNP Chairperson’s political office in Gulshan, the capital, on Friday (June 13).
He further said that the top priority among the issues discussed in the meeting was the upcoming national elections. Tarique Rahman proposed in the meeting that the elections should be brought forward to mid-February, not the previously announced month of April. That would be a more suitable time for the nation. The Chief Advisor agreed to this proposal.
