Sputnik Cosmos Fest 2025 celebrated at Russian House in Dhaka

A two-day “Sputnik Cosmos Fest 2025” was held at Russian House in Dhaka to mark the 68th anniversary of the launch of the world’s first artificial satellite “Sputnik-1”.

The two-day festival, jointly organized by Russian House in Dhaka, Serov Academy of Fine Arts and Bangladesh Astronomical Association, included various educational and creative activities aimed at inspiring the younger generation towards science, space and discovery.

The festival program included a rocket model-making workshop, astronomy camp, space documentary exhibition and a fascinating drawing competition titled “Space in My Eyes”, where children and teenagers depicted the universe through their imagination.

More than 200 students from various educational institutions in Bangladesh participated in the festival and displayed their enthusiasm and creativity.

At the closing ceremony, Alexandra A. Khlevna, Director of the Russian House in Dhaka, presented certificates and mementos to the participating students and praised their curiosity and vision for future space exploration.

“Sputnik Cosmos Fest 2025” commemorates the historic launch of Sputnik-1, the first step in mankind’s space exploration, while also arousing scientific interest among the younger generation.
