The South Asia Trade Fair 2025 is starting in Dhaka with the participation of SAARC countries. Various types of products including ready-made garments and textiles, gems and jewelry, cosmetics, leather products, home appliances and kitchenware, processed food, electronics will be displayed at the fair. More than a hundred companies from South Asian countries will participate in the fair with their products and services.
The fair is organized by the SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI). The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), the Ministry of Commerce and the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) are cooperating in this. Honorable Trade Advisor Sheikh Bashiruddin will inaugurate the fair at the International Convention City Bashundhara in the capital on Thursday (September 18, 2025) at 11 am.

Mr. Zulfikar Ali Bhat, Secretary General of SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, gave detailed information about the fair at a press conference held at the Motijheel office of FBCCI on Tuesday (September 16, 2025) afternoon. He said that this fair will create opportunities for B2B match-making sessions, business networking sessions, etc., to increase trust among businessmen and entrepreneurs of SAARC countries and to exchange knowledge related to business and trade. Which will play an important role in the expansion of regional trade.
He also said that although there is ample opportunity to expand regional trade, South Asian countries are lagging behind in this regard. Through this fair, communication between countries will further increase, which is very important. He also said that more than a hundred organizations from Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan are participating in this fair.
FBCCI Secretary General Md. Alamgir highlighted the goals and objectives of forming the SAARC Chamber at the event. He said that this fair will reflect the capabilities and trade potential of South Asian countries in various sectors including textiles, medicines, processed food and agriculture, and electronics. It will also showcase the traditions and cultural characteristics of SAARC countries.
