Shwapno Supershop inaugurates country’s first self-checkout counter

Swapno Supershop has inaugurated the country’s first self-checkout counter in Bangladesh, where customers can pay their shopping bills easily and quickly. World-renowned payment technology company Mastercard has supported this innovative initiative.

This special service was initially inaugurated for esteemed customers at the Gulshan-1 outlet on Wednesday (August 20, 2025) at 2 pm.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Paul Frost, Commercial Counselor of the U.S. Commercial Service of the U.S. Embassy, ​​Sabbir Hasan Nasir, Managing Director of Shwapno, Syed Mohammad Kamal, Country Manager of MasterCard Bangladesh, M. Khorshed Anwar, Mastercard Overseas Sales Manager (Bangladesh) Saniul Jadid, Director Sohail Alim and Merchant and Commerce Lead Zubayr Hossain.

This technology, launched in a dream, will ensure a modern, fast and secure shopping experience for customers. Experts believe that it will open a new horizon in the country’s retail market and further encourage customers to use digital payments.
