For the first time, shuttle bus service has been started in the campus for the students of Dhaka University. University Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmad Khan inaugurated this service as the chief guest on Thursday (28 November 2024). It has been decided to launch this service on an experimental basis for the next 3 months.
Dhaka University Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Professor Dr. Saima Haque Vidisha was present as a special guest at the inauguration ceremony. In addition, the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences Professor Mrs. Rasheda Irshad Nasir, Proctor Associate Professor Saifuddin Ahmed, Provost Standing Committee convener Dr. Abdullah-Al-Mamun, acting registrar Munsi Shams Uddin Ahmad and a student representative addressed the event. Transport Manager. Kamrul Hasan conducted the program. Deans of various faculties, principals of various halls, heads of various offices and students were present.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmad Khan said that shuttle bus service has been launched to facilitate internal movement of students despite limited capacity. He expressed sincere thanks to all those involved in this program, especially the treasurer of the university. Emphasizing on the proper supervision, maintenance and proper control of this service, he said, in this regard, everyone including the students should play their role from their respective positions. The Vice-Chancellor explained to the students the rationale of not using any other vehicle in the campus as an alternative to the shuttle bus.
Note that 3 non AC minibuses will ply from 7 am to 9 pm on 3 campus routes. The routes are 1. Kavi Sufia Kamal Hall-Amar Ekushey Hall-Shahidullah Hall-Karzon Hall-Mokarram Bhawan-Sciencenex Bhawan-TSC-Kalabhavan-Malchatwar-Neelkhet Mor 2. Neelkhet Mor-Malchatwar-Business Faculty-Lecture Theater Building-Madhur Canteen-Central Library-Fine Arts-TSC-Nutrition and Food Science Institute- Curzon Hall-Poet Sufia Kamal Hall and 3. Kavi Sufia Kamal Hall-Amar Ekushey Hall-Shahidullah Hall-Karzon Hall-Mokarram Bhawan-Sciencenex Bhawan-Jagannath Hall-SM Hall-Fuller Road-Malchatwar-Neelkhet Mor.
