Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (retd.) has said that security and overall preparations for the upcoming Eid al-Adha are good.
The advisor said this while briefing reporters after visiting the Eid al-Adha animal market adjacent to the North Shahjahanpur Maitree Sangha Club in the capital on Wednesday (June 04, 2025) afternoon.
The advisor said that for the sake of security, a large number of Ansar members have been deployed at each Eid al-Adha. Along with the police, a control room has been opened by the leaseholders. He said that check-up arrangements have been made so that sick animals cannot enter the market. At the same time, a medical team has been kept so that if any of the buyers and sellers are sick or injured, they can get treatment. Overall, the management and overall preparations for this Eid al-Adha are very good.
Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.) said, we want a normal price for cattle where the farmer or farmer benefits and the buyer also benefits. So that the interests of both are protected and no one is harmed. He said, if the price of cattle decreases too much, the farmer or farmer suffers, and if the price increases, the consumer suffers. Therefore, we want a price to be determined so that both parties benefit.
In response to a question from journalists, the advisor said, in front of the truck of each sacrificial animal, it will be written which market the truck will go to and a banner will be hung in this regard. If anyone tries to disrupt this, action has been ordered to be taken against him.
