Saudi Arabia-Bangladesh Business Summit to begin on October 7

The Saudi Arabia-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SABCCI) has officially launched its journey. At a press conference held in the capital today, Sunday (October 5, 2025), the leaders of the newly formed chamber presented the details of its goals, plans and inauguration ceremony to Bangladeshi businessmen, investors and journalists.

The Saudi Arabia-Bangladesh Business Summit is going to begin in Dhaka to build strong commercial, economic and investment relations. The summit will begin on October 7 at a prestigious hotel in the capital, organized by the Saudi Arabia-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SABCCI). Businessmen, companies and business organizations, and policymakers from Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia will participate in it.

The press conference said that there was a need for a joint commercial platform between Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh for a long time. This time, SABCCI is going to make that dream a reality. The main goal of the chamber is to build strong economic, commercial and investment relations between the two countries.

SABCCI President Ashraful Alam Chowdhury inaugurated the summit and highlighted the details at a press conference. He said, “Both Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia can invest in various sectors including petrochemicals, crude oil refineries, steel, food industry, agrochemicals, fertilizers, textiles, port management, green technology, cyber security, IT and artificial intelligence-based technologies, semiconductors, etc. through foreign direct investment (FDI) or joint ventures.”

SABCCI Vice President and Galaxy Group Managing Director Ahmed Yusuf Walid said, “There is a huge potential for Bangladeshis to do business in Saudi Arabia. Recently, Middle Eastern countries including Saudi Arabia have changed their laws for foreign entrepreneurs and businessmen. This is a huge opportunity for us. Many Bangladeshi businessmen are now doing business in Saudi Arabia. The summit will strengthen the business ties between the two countries.

SABCCI member and PRAN-RFL Group Director Uzma Chowdhury said, “We want to see the Saudi market in a way where businessmen from Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia can conduct their business closely. We want to open the journey of bilateral development with Saudi Arabia by introducing new types of products from Bangladesh such as IT products, IT services, nursing services and more. Through this chamber, we want to find a quick solution to all the problems related to export-import in Saudi Arabia.”

A three-day (October 6-8) special event has been announced to mark the grand inauguration of the chamber. A 20-member Saudi Arabian business delegation, led by Majd Al Umran Group Chairman Sheikh Omar Abdul Hafiz Amirbaksh, will arrive in Dhaka on October 6.
