Robi Axiata Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nick Rizal Kamil Nick Ibrahim Tamil paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
The courtesy call was held at the Shangri-La Hotel in Kuala Lumpur at 2:50 PM local time on Monday (June 22, 2026) in Malaysia.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on expanding investment in Bangladesh’s telecommunications sector, developing digital infrastructure, and quickly launching 5G networks in the country. Both sides emphasized the importance of building a modern and technology-based communication system in Bangladesh.
At the time, Robi Axiata Group CEO praised Bangladesh’s ongoing economic reforms and investment-friendly environment. He thanked the Prime Minister for the various initiatives taken to encourage investment in the new budget and reiterated Axiata Group’s long-term commitment to the telecommunications and digital sectors in Bangladesh.
