Religious Affairs Minister visits Kurmitola Hospital to check on sick pilgrim

Desk Report:

Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain (Kaikobad) went to Kurmitola General Hospital in Dhaka on Thursday (April 30, 2026) night to check on the physical condition of sick pilgrim Golam Mustafa. During this time, the minister spoke to the hospital director, the on-duty doctor and the relatives of the pilgrim and requested the hospital director to provide the best possible healthcare to the sick pilgrim.

It is worth noting that pilgrim Golam Mustafa (74) fell ill on his way to the Hajj camp with his wife for Hajj. After arriving at the Hajj camp in an unconscious state, he was first taken to the Hajj camp’s medical center. The doctor on duty there tested him and identified high blood sugar levels in his blood and referred him to Kurmitola General Hospital. The pilgrim’s condition is currently unchanged.

Dhaka Hajj Office Director Md. Lokman Hossain said that the Hajj flight of the sick pilgrim is scheduled for 9:10 pm on Friday (May 1, 2026). Further decisions regarding the pilgrim will be taken after consulting the doctor.
