Punishment for causing trouble to Hajis, reward for providing service: Religious Affairs Minister

Desk Report:

Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain (Kaikobad) has said that agencies will be rewarded for providing good and fair service to Hajis. Those who cause trouble to Hajis will be punished.

The minister made these remarks as the chief guest at a discussion, prayer and iftar mahfil organized by the Haj Agencies Association of Bangladesh (HAAB) on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan 1447 Hijri at the Police Convention Hall in the capital on Saturday (February 28, 2026).

The Religious Affairs Minister said that Haj pilgrims are the guests of Allah. They should be given the best service. They should be treated well. No injustice should be done to them. Highlighting the importance of iftar, he said that iftar is the command of Allah. This command should be observed at the right time.

Calling himself a Khadem, Kaikobad said, “As a Khadem, I will try to serve you for the pleasure of Allah. I will try to work for the pleasure of Allah, not for your pleasure. I will try to fulfill the responsibility that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has given me for the pleasure of Allah.”

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam (Rita) spoke as a special guest via video call at the event presided over by HAAB President Syed Ghulam Sarwar. Acting Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs Md. Ayatul Islam and HAAB Secretary General Farid Ahmed Majumdar, among others, spoke at the event.
