According to the Hajj management roadmap announced by the Saudi government, Hajj flights will start from April 18. Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will officially inaugurate the Hajj flights at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 11:35 pm on April 17.
This year, the inaugural flight of Hajj from Bangladesh will leave Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport for King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia at 12:20 pm on April 18 with 419 pilgrims.
A total of 14 flights will be operated on this day. Of these, 6 will be operated by Biman Bangladesh Airlines, 4 by Saudi Arabia’s Saudia, and 4 by Flynas.
A total of 78,500 pilgrims from Bangladesh will perform the holy Hajj in 2026. Of these, 4,565 will go for Hajj under government management and 73,935 will go for Hajj through Hajj agencies.
According to the Hajj agreement signed with Saudi Arabia, Biman Bangladesh Airlines will transport 50 percent of the total Hajj pilgrims. Of the remaining 50 percent, Saudia of Saudi Arabia will transport 35 percent and Flynas will transport 15 percent of the Hajj pilgrims.
The total number of pre-Hajj flights is 207. Of these, Biman Bangladesh Airlines will operate 102, Saudia 75 and Flynas 30 flights. The pre-Hajj flights will end on May 21.
The holy Hajj will be held on May 26, 2026, subject to the sighting of the moon.
After the Hajj formalities, the return flights will start from May 30 and will end on July 1.
