Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and his cabinet members paid homage at the graves of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) founder and former President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia.
Today, Wednesday (February 18, 2026) at 12 noon, the Prime Minister along with his cabinet members went to Zia Udyan located in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in the capital. There, they paid their deepest respects to Shaheed Zia and Begum Khaleda Zia by laying wreaths.
At this time, special prayers and Fatiha were recited seeking forgiveness for the souls of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman and Begum Khaleda Zia. The leaders, activists and well-wishers present also participated in the prayers.
