Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has called upon all members of society to play a responsible role in ensuring a beautiful, safe, and secure future for children.
He made this call on Tuesday morning (October 6, 2026) while speaking as the chief guest at a program marking ‘Children’s Rights Day 2026’ and the 50th anniversary (Golden Jubilee) of the Bangladesh Shishu Academy, held at the academy’s premises in the capital under the theme “Let the Child’s Future Be Secure.”










Upon his arrival at the venue, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman was welcomed and greeted by 150 children. The event formally began with the rendition of the national anthem, after which the Prime Minister took his seat alongside the other guests.
The Prime Minister’s spouse and Vice-Chairman of the Ziaur Rahman Foundation, Dr. Zubaida Rahman, was present at the event.
The Prime Minister enjoyed a delightful cultural program performed by the children. He handed over commemorative gifts to the children and unveiled the cover of ‘Shoishob’ (Childhood), a souvenir publication marking the 50th anniversary of the Bangladesh Shishu Academy.
Additionally, the Prime Minister interacted with children from various parts of the country via video conference. He visited the art and photo galleries showcasing the children’s work and praised their creative endeavors.
At the conclusion of the event, the Prime Minister inaugurated a solar panel system and a sub-station installed on the ground floor of the Bangladesh Shishu Academy’s Children’s Museum building.
The Golden Jubilee celebration of the Bangladesh Shishu Academy highlighted the collective role of the state and society in ensuring children’s rights, safety, and welfare, as well as fostering their intellectual and creative development.
