Desk Report:

Mahdi Amin, Advisor to the Prime Minister and spokesperson for the Prime Minister’s Office, stated that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman’s four-day visit to New York—undertaken to attend the 81st session of the UN General Assembly—not only highlighted Bangladesh’s sovereignty, national interests, and potential to the international community but also opened up new horizons for partnership, investment, trade, and inclusive development.

He made these remarks on Wednesday (September 30, 2026) at a press conference held at the Karabi Hall of the Prime Minister’s Office.

Mahdi Amin said that during this four-day working visit, the Prime Minister firmly projected Bangladesh’s independence, sovereignty, and national interests and potential across various sectors on the global stage. He conveyed clear messages to the international community regarding Bangladesh’s stance, development plans, and mutual cooperation.

Highlighting various aspects of the Prime Minister’s New York visit, Mahdi Amin noted that the Prime Minister participated in a total of 30 official engagements. In addition to addressing the main session of the UN General Assembly, he held bilateral meetings with representatives from 11 countries and spoke at six other events.
