With the slogan ‘Let there be a festival for everyone’, the colorful inaugural ceremony of Baisakhi Mela 1432 was held for the first time at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel today, Sunday (April 13, 2025).
This three-day fair surrounding the Baisakhi festival will continue until April 15, from 11 am to 10 pm every day. The event has spread a festive atmosphere throughout the main lobby, lobby lounge and the area next to Terracotta of this one of the most prestigious hotels in Dhaka.






Nasreen Jahan, Honorable Secretary of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism and Chairman of Hotel International, was present as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony. Mr. Michel Lee, Charge d’Affaires of the Singapore High Commission, Managing Director (Additional Secretary-Grade 1) of the Small and Medium Foundation of the Ministry of Industries, and Mr. Anwar Hossain Chowdhury, and popular singer Mehreen were present as special guests.




Also present at the event were Hotel International Managing Director Md. Israt Hossain Khan, Company Secretary Md. Anwarul Islam Sarkar, Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel Acting Managing Director Asif Ahmed, Food and Beverage Director Kazi Moazzem Hossain, and Public Relations Officer and Marketing In-charge Md. Nafiuzzaman.




At the inaugural function, the audience was mesmerized by the Bengali Baisakhi music performed by child artists. Later, the guests visited each stall of the fair.














There are more than 25 stalls at the fair, where visitors can get various products including traditional Bengali handicrafts, cottage industries, local fabrics, jewelry, cosmetics. The hotel itself has a variety of local food flavors, which will be available at affordable prices.
Bioscope, parrot games, and traditional games have been organized for families and children—all absolutely free! There are also henna and face painting arrangements, which will be available at very affordable prices. Baisakhi music will be played throughout the fair, which will add to the joy of the festival.
In addition, the three-day ‘Swade Ghraane Bangaliana’ Baisakhi food festival is going on at the hotel’s popular restaurant Cafe Bazaar. About 200 types of local dishes have been arranged in it.
