Pakistan Commerce Minister Jam Kamal Khan paid a courtesy call on Industry Advisor Adilur Rahman Khan today (August 21, 2025).
The meeting was held during a meeting with the Pakistan Commerce Minister at the conference room of the Industries Ministry in Motijheel. The meeting discussed various issues related to increasing cooperation between the two countries in the field of industrial development and mutual interests.
Welcoming the Pakistan Commerce Minister, the Industry Advisor said that the two countries can work together to increase people-to-people contact between Bangladesh and Pakistan. He emphasized on increasing mutual cooperation in the development of sugar industry, leather industry, cement, shipbuilding and agriculture in Bangladesh.
The meeting discussed the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) and Pakistan Halal Authority. The meeting also informed about the decision to form a joint working group to develop the sugar industry of Bangladesh and Pakistan.
In the meeting, the Pakistani Commerce Minister said that Pakistan is interested in various areas of cooperation, including industrial development of the two countries, agriculture and food security, trade and investment promotion.
The Pakistani Commerce Minister was accompanied by Pakistan’s newly appointed High Commissioner to Dhaka, Imran Haider. Industries Secretary Md. Obaidur Rahman and BSTI Director General SM Ferdous Alam were present at the meeting.
