Pakistan Commerce Minister Mr. Jam Kamal Khan visited Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) today (21 August 2025) and exchanged views with DCCI President Mr. Taskin Ahmed and board members on the possibilities of strengthening bilateral trade and investment relations. Pakistan High Commissioner to Dhaka Mr. Imran Haider was also present at the meeting.

In the meeting, the Pakistan Commerce Minister appreciated the cooperation of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry with DCCI. He also appreciated DCCI’s exporter-importer database sharing activities.
The Minister invited DCCI to participate in the 3rd International Food and Agricultural Exhibition (FoodAg) to be held in Karachi from November 25-27. The meeting discussed the possibilities of cooperation in renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, automotive parts, FMCG, IT and youth fashion and lifestyle sectors.

DCCI President Mr. Taskin Ahmed gave a brief overview of the organization’s history and role in facilitating cross-border trade. He proposed exchange of trade delegations, participation in exhibitions and knowledge sharing to increase bilateral trade. Highlighting the role of DCCI in the development of small and medium enterprises (SMEs), he proposed to connect the SME sectors of the two countries.
The meeting also discussed the removal of tariff and non-tariff barriers and development in the logistics sector. Finally, the two sides expressed their commitment to create a conducive environment for mutual trade.
