NRB Bank PLC receives Mastercard Principal Membership License

Mastercard has granted NRB Bank PLC a Principal Membership License. As a result, the bank will be able to issue Mastercard branded credit cards, debit cards, prepaid cards and SME cards in Bangladesh.

Through this partnership, NRB Bank PLC will be able to ensure secure and seamless domestic and international payment services for its customers at ATMs, Point of Sale (POS) and e-commerce platforms. In addition, customers will have the opportunity to use Mastercard’s global network and advanced digital payment facilities.

Syed Mohammad Kamal, Country Manager, Mastercard Bangladesh, officially handed over the Principal Membership to the bank’s Managing Director and CEO Tarek Riaz Khan at a ceremony organized at the head office of NRB Bank.

Sohel Alim, Director, Mastercard Bangladesh; NRB Bank PLC Deputy Managing Directors Md. Shahin Hawlader and Anwar Uddin; SEVP Md. Rezaul Shahriar and Head of Cards Khawaja Wasiullah. Other senior officials of NRB Bank PLC and MasterCard were also present at the event.
