Nepal Prime Minister condoles death of Begum Khaleda Zia

Nepalese Prime Minister Sushila Karki has expressed deep grief over the death of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson and Bangladesh’s first female Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia.

In a condolence message, the Nepalese Prime Minister said, “I am deeply saddened by the death of BNP Chairperson and Bangladesh’s first female Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. On behalf of the government and people of Nepal, I extend my heartfelt condolences to her family, relatives and the people of Bangladesh.”

In her condolence message, she further mentioned that Begum Khaleda Zia left behind a glorious legacy of lifelong public service. Her strong and visionary leadership will be remembered as a historic chapter in Bangladesh’s democratic journey.

The Nepalese Prime Minister said that as a true friend of Nepal, Begum Khaleda Zia played an important role in strengthening Nepal-Bangladesh bilateral relations, which further strengthened the friendship and cooperation between the people of the two countries.

At the end of the condolence message, he prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.
