National Housing Authority celebrates ‘July Mass Uprising Day’ with due dignity

National Housing Authority organized a befitting celebration of ‘July Mass Uprising Day’ today, Tuesday (August 05, 2025), on the occasion of the anniversary of the unprecedented uprising of the students of 24. This program was organized to commemorate the historical movement of the students and the public for freedom from authoritarian rule and restoration of democratic rights.

On the occasion of the day, wreaths were laid at the ‘July Memorial’ located in Shahbagh, Dhaka, with the participation of all the officers and employees of the National Housing Authority. After paying tribute, a discussion meeting and remembrance program was organized in the conference room of the Housing Authority in Segunbagicha in the afternoon.

Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, Mr. Md. Abdur Rahman Tarafdar, was present as the chief guest at the discussion program. The program was presided over by the Chairman of the National Housing Authority, Ms. Mosa: Ferdousi Begum. The program was moderated by the Member (Administration) of the Authority, Mr. Alamgir Hussain. In the discussion meeting, the speakers highlighted the significance of the July Uprising, its context and its importance to the future generations.

The July Uprising was a new horizon in the history of Bangladesh, which brought back the rule of the people in the country by overthrowing the dictatorship. Through this movement, the young generation has proven their courage and determination.

Along with the discussion and reminiscences, poetry recitation and a documentary on ‘July 36’ were also screened. A special prayer meeting was organized at the event to pray for the forgiveness of the souls of the martyrs and the recovery of the injured in July.
