Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir sworn in as 23rd President

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was sworn in as the 23rd President of the country. The newly elected President took the oath at the Darbar Hall of Bangabhaban today, Friday (August 21, 2026) at 7:30 pm. Through the oath-taking, he assumed responsibility for the highest constitutional position of the state.

The Acting President, Prime Minister, Chief Justice, Cabinet members, foreign diplomats, members of parliament and senior civil and military officials were present at the oath-taking ceremony.
