Md. Omar Faruk Khan is the appointed as new Managing Director of Islami Bank

Md. Omar Faruk Khan was appointed as the new Managing Director (MD) of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC on Sunday (August 3).

He was previously serving as the Acting Managing Director of Islami Bank. Earlier, he also served as the Acting Managing Director of NRB Bank PLC. Md. Omar Faruk Khan joined Islami Bank in 1986 after completing his master’s degree in Sociology from the University of Dhaka. He successfully served in various positions at the head office, including Treasury, Foreign Trade, Corporate Investment, and various wings, divisions and zones, local offices and branch heads, for nearly four decades.

Md. Omar Farooq Khan is a Diplomate Associate of the Institute of Bankers Bangladesh and holds a Certified Documentary Credit Specialist (CDCS) degree from the London Institute of Banking and Finance, ICC Affiliated. He has attended various seminars and trainings on banking including international banking and credit management in various countries including Switzerland, France, Germany, Italy, China, Malaysia, Qatar, Thailand, India, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Nepal. He was born in Lakshmipur district in 1963.
