Mr. Md. Israil Howlader took charge as the new Commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP) on Wednesday (November 19, 2025). He was appointed as GMP Commissioner through a notification dated November 16, 2025 of the Police-1 Branch of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
On the occasion of assuming charge, the new Police Commissioner arrived at the GMP headquarters and was greeted with flowers by Additional Police Commissioner (Administration and Finance) Mr. Mohammad Zahidul Hasan, BPM. Later, a smart team of GMP presented a guard of honor to the Commissioner.
After assuming charge, Md. Israil Howlader exchanged views with officers of various ranks of GMP. At this time, senior officers of GMP and police members of all levels were present.
