Maldives High Commissioner stresses inclusive education and employment

High Commissioner of Maldives in Dhaka, Sheunin Rashid, spoke as a guest at the seminar “Harnessing the Youth Dividend: Strategic Imperatives for Bangladesh in a Changing World” jointly organized by Bangladesh Institute of International and Strategic Studies (BIISS) and Dhaka University.

In her speech, High Commissioner Sheunin Rashid exchanged views with university students and mentioned the youth as a key driving force for economic growth, climate change mitigation and social transformation.

She said, “To harness the creativity, skills and leadership of the youth, we need to ensure inclusive education, meaningful employment and their active participation in global discussions.”

She also said that both Maldives and Bangladesh are vulnerable to climate change. Therefore, she called for strengthening youth-led cooperation in renewable energy, sustainable tourism, digital innovation and cultural exchange. He expressed hope that through this, it will be possible to build a more sustainable and strong future.
