Maldives High Commissioner Sheunin Rashid inaugurated a workshop titled “My Protector, I Am Ananya” in Dhaka. The workshop was organized by Women’s Federation for World Peace Bangladesh and Fresh Ananya with the aim of empowering women and enhancing their self-defense skills. The workshop was held at the University of Asia Pacific campus.

In this, female students of the university participated in banking, healthcare and self-defense training. Speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony, the Maldives High Commissioner highlighted the importance of such training in enhancing the safety, well-being and financial independence of young women.
“Educating young women creates opportunities for their own protection and leadership development. This not only ensures personal safety, but also paves the way for their social and economic leadership,” she said.

The High Commissioner thanked the organizers for such a timely initiative and called for regularization of such programs to develop women’s confidence and leadership qualities.
