Maldives High Commission expresses deep condolences over the death of Begum Khaleda Zia

The Maldives High Commission in Dhaka has expressed deep condolences over the death of former Bangladesh Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

In a condolence message, the Maldives High Commission said that as the first female Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Begum Khaleda Zia occupies a unique and memorable place in the history of the country. The government and people of Maldives extend their deepest condolences on her death.

The condolence message further said that the Maldives High Commission extends its sincere sympathy and condolences to the family of Begum Khaleda Zia, the government of Bangladesh and the people of Bangladesh in this difficult time. Their thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family and the people of Bangladesh.

The Maldives High Commission noted that Begum Khaleda Zia’s contribution to the development and progress of Bangladesh will be considered a lasting and memorable legacy.
