Lalita Silwal, Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) of the Embassy of Nepal in Bangladesh, inaugurated a three-day special photography exhibition titled ‘Sea to Summit’ at the Bangladesh National Museum.

The exhibition features images of the adventurous expeditions of Ikramul Hasan Shakil of Bangladesh and Tashi Galzen Sherpa of Nepal. Both recently set a unique example by conquering Mount Everest.

In her opening remarks, Lalita Silwal congratulated the two mountaineers, Mr. Shakil and Mr. Sherpa, and emphasized that their joint climb is a reflection of the enduring values of courage, determination and resilience shared by both the Nepali and Bangladeshi people.
Ikramul Hasan Shakil made history by walking 1,372 kilometers from the Bay of Bengal in Cox’s Bazar to the summit of Mount Everest in just 84 days. On the other hand, Tashi Galzen Sherpa set a unique record by conquering Mount Everest four times in just 15 days.

The exhibition, organized by the Bangladeshi Mountaineering Trekking Club, will run from July 11 to 13 and will be open to visitors.
