Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) organized a grand welfare meeting and a heart-warming ceremony at the KMP Police Lines Drillshed on Saturday (August 1, 2026) at 10 am to bid farewell to KMP Police Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Hasan, BPM-Seba.
At the ceremony, the outgoing Police Commissioner was presented with floral greetings and a crest of honor by Khulna Metropolitan Police.
The speakers said that every workplace is a witness to some memories, achievements and unique people. The departure of Police Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Hasan due to transfer is an emotional moment for Khulna Metropolitan Police. While performing his duties, he has set a shining example of professionalism, honesty, humanity and visionary leadership. His sincere efforts in ensuring people-friendly policing, welfare of police members and gaining the trust of the people have been widely appreciated.
They further said that it is important to be a good person before becoming a good police officer – this value he has highlighted through his career. His leadership, dedication and human values will be a source of inspiration for every member of the Khulna Metropolitan Police.
In his speech, outgoing Police Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Hasan, BPM-Seba said that love for every creature created by God along with humans, standing by the helpless and small humanitarian initiatives are the basis for building a beautiful society. The greatest strength of a police member is his humane behavior, honesty, self-criticism and sincere service to the people.
He laid special emphasis on ensuring the welfare of police members, mental health, mutual respect and people-friendly policing. At the same time, he called for unity not division, forgiveness and correction not revenge, and performing duties with the spirit of service not display of power.
Appreciating the sincerity, sacrifice and dedication of all members of Khulna Metropolitan Police, he expressed his firm determination to continue working for the welfare, dignity and professional development of the members of Bangladesh Police in the future.
The program was attended by Muhammad Shahnewaz Khaled, PPM-Service, Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic and Protocol, with additional charge of Admin and Finance); M. M. Shakiluzzaman, Deputy Police Commissioner (Head Office, with additional charge of F&B), recently promoted to the post of Additional DIG; Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Ops) (acting) and senior officials of Khulna Metropolitan Police.
