July Uprising paved the way for our rights: Foreign Affairs Advisor

On Monday (August 4, 2025) afternoon, Foreign Affairs Advisor Md. Touhid Hossain made this comment at a seminar titled ‘July Uprising Day 2025’ organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

He said, “The July Uprising is an unforgettable example of the united efforts and sacrifices of the student masses for the purpose of justice in national life and restoration of democracy. This collective effort paved the way for our rights. I gratefully remember those whose hard work and sacrifice will be a milestone in the history of the nation.”

“The mass uprising of 24 is not only for political change, but also marked as a victory of courage, determination and unity of the student community and the common people. Established as a symbol of the sacrifice and unity of the students and the people, this day of uprising has brought a new beginning to the nation and it will act as a guide to democracy for future generations.”

The advisor further said, “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has a significant role to play in upholding the July spirit. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is working to improve Bangladesh’s relations with allied countries, warm relations with hostile countries and open new possibilities for economic and technical cooperation. Significant successes have already been achieved in various bilateral, multilateral and regional issues.”

“On this day, we should ask ourselves whether we are properly cherishing the great sacrifices and ideals of this month of July and August. Are we able to dedicate ourselves to the service of the country? Let us take an oath on this day that we will fulfill our duties more faithfully. In the light of the spirit of July, we will take Bangladesh’s honor to greater heights in the world court.”
