A high-level event titled ‘Resilient Horizons’ organized by Standard Chartered Bangladesh was held at The Westin Dhaka in the capital. It was attended by Mr. Tarek Rafi Bhuiyan Jun, President of Japan-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JBCCI), Joint Secretary-General and JETRO Dhaka Country Representative Mr. Yuji Ando, Directors and Secretariat members of JBCCI.

The event was presided over by His Excellency the Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh, Mr. Saida Shinichi. The Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) was present as the chief guest. He termed Standard Chartered’s research and analytical presentation as timely and investment-friendly.

The panel discussion organized at the event was attended by leading figures from the investment and trade sectors. The discussion was moderated by the CEO of Standard Chartered Bangladesh. It resulted in a lively and fruitful exchange of views among the participants, which provided a clear idea of the current status and future prospects of foreign investment in Bangladesh.

Mr. Yuji Ando, in his presentation, presented the results of a survey of Japanese investors conducted by JETRO. He clearly presented the challenges and opportunities existing in investing in Bangladesh.
The ‘Resilient Horizons’ event was informative and relevant, which gave an important message for the economic progress of Bangladesh and the improvement of the international investment environment.
