Italian Ambassador meets Trade Advisor

Trade Advisor Sheikh Bashiruddin met with Italian Ambassador to Bangladesh Antonio Alessandre. The meeting was held at the Trade Advisor’s office at the Secretariat today, Wednesday (September 24, 2025) afternoon.

The meeting discussed various aspects of bilateral trade, investment and economic cooperation between Bangladesh and Italy in detail.

Both sides emphasized the importance of deepening and expanding economic relations between the two countries.

Trade Advisor Sheikh Bashiruddin expressed his interest in further strengthening Bangladesh’s trade relations with Italy. He said that the investment environment in Bangladesh is better than ever. The Ministry of Commerce will be committed to providing all kinds of cooperation to Italian investors in terms of investment.

Italian Ambassador Antonio Alessandre reiterated his country’s interest in working closely with Bangladesh. He said, “We are keen to encourage Italian investment and technology transfer in Bangladesh. There is a huge potential for increasing cooperation, especially in the medium and small scale industries sector.”

Additional Secretary (Export) of the Ministry of Commerce Md. Abdur Rahim Khan and Deputy Head of Mission Federico Zamparelli were present at the meeting.
