Md. Omar Faruk Khan, newly appointed managing director of Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC exchanged views with the executives from head office, zonal heads and branch incumbents. Mohammad Jamal Uddin Mazumder, additional managing director, presided over the program while Md. Altaf Hossain, additional managing director, Mahmudur Rahman and Muhammad Sayeed Ullah, deputy managing directors of the bank addressed the program as special guest on 4 August, 2025 through a hybrid system. Dr. M Kamal Uddin Jasim delivered the welcome speech. Deputy managing directors along with the heads of Wings and Divisions from the head office heads of 16 zones and incumbents of 400 branches, in-charges of 271 sub-branches of the bank participated in the program.
Md. Omar Faruk Khan, in his speech as the chief guest, said that Islami Bank is the largest bank in the country and is considered the backbone of the national economy. This has been made possible due to the unwavering trust of the people. Although there had been some erosion of that trust in recent years, it has been restored in the new Bangladesh. He emphasized the need for everyone to work unitedly to restore the legacy of Islami Bank. He instructed the officials to identify the bank’s problems and make all-out efforts to overcome them. He called upon everyone to perform their duties with honesty, sincerity, dedication and professionalism to transform Islami Bank into a modern and smart financial institution.
